Juan Diego Rivas
Capital Region Integration Network Coordinator
Born and raised in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Juan Diego Rivas moved to the Capital Region in 2017 to pursue his post-secondary studies. He graduated with honours in International Relations and a minor in Economics from St. Thomas University. Throughout his time in the Capital Region, Juan Diego has held various roles that have allowed him to support newcomers in a range of capacities.
Drawing from his own journey, Juan Diego is passionate about removing barriers for others starting fresh in a new place. His work focuses on building bridges—connecting newcomers with services, resources, and opportunities to thrive. By partnering with organizations and local stakeholders, he plays an active role in making the region more inclusive and welcoming to all.
Outside of work, Juan Diego is still a child at heart. He loves collecting and building LEGO sets, playing video games, and forming friendships over local football matches. A passionate supporter of FC Barcelona and the Ecuadorian National team, he rarely misses a chance to cheer on his favorite teams.
